Dilshan Remaz Ossen obtained his Ph.D. (Architecture) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2006 under the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan. In the year 2000, he obtained his professional qualification as a Chartered Architect and Associate membership from Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (AIA-2000, ARB-2008). He completed his B.Sc. (BE,1995) and M.Sc. (Architecture, 1998) from the University of Moratuwa, Colombo Sri Lanka.
Since 2016, he is attached with College of Architecture Engineering and Design, Kingdom University, the Kingdom of Bahrain as an Associate Professor. He had served on the Faculty of Built Environment Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Johor Bahru, Malaysia from 2006 to 2016. During his academic tenure, he has published over 20 high impact journal articles and presented in several international and regional seminars, supervised over 20 Ph.D. and 30 Master research students.
His research focus is on – Sustainable City & Urban Climate, Climatic Consideration and Passive Design Strategies in Building, Energy Efficiency in Buildings and Urban Design & Conservation.
